    Course Outline:

    1. Introduction to Programming: Discover the art of giving instructions to machines through coding. We will dive into Scratch, a playful and powerful tool for creating interactive applications.
    2. Sequencing and Events: Learn how to sequence instructions and create programs that respond to various events, sparking your imagination.
    3. Looping Mastery: Master the art of loops to repeat instructions continuously or for a specified number of times, enhancing your coding skills.
    4. Game Design and Storytelling: Create simple games, captivating stories, and eye-catching animations. Move characters around the stage, work with sounds and music, and bring conversations between characters to life.
    5. Conditional Logic: Explore conditions (e.g., if-then-else) and learn how to use them to control the flow of your programs, making your creations more dynamic.
    6. Interactive Programs: Develop programs that respond to external events, like controlling a character using the mouse pointer, and bring your coding projects to the next level.

    How to Join:

    • Who: Children & Youth aged 6-18 in the USA
    • When: Application is ongoing! Classes starts 20th of January 2024
    • Where: Join us virtually from the comfort of your home.

    PROGRAM MANAGER

    Dr. Boma Levy-Braide

    Dr. Boma Levy-Braide, with her extensive background in public health and infectious diseases, brings valuable expertise to the Emerging Youth Foundation. Her experience includes managing global health programs and policy development, particularly in HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis. Dr. Levy-Braide's past roles at organizations like the Clinton Health Access Initiative and FHI360 highlight her commitment to healthcare access and reform. Her dedication to fostering partnerships across sectors aligns seamlessly with the foundation's mission to empower youth and create positive community change.

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Dr. Josephine Adegbulugbe

    Dr. Josephine Adegbulugbe, is a passionate advocate for creating a nurturing environment for future generations. With a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree and a post graduate diploma in Health Informatics from McMaster University, she combines medical expertise with technological savvy. As a Senior Project Manager, she has successfully led diverse teams and projects. Her work as a Clinical Analyst further showcases her analytical skills and commitment to healthcare improvement. Her involvement with non-profits like various Community Living Organisations in Canada demonstrates her dedication to supporting individuals with intellectual challenges and their families. Dr. Adegbulugbe's unique blend of professional skills and personal commitment makes her an invaluable asset to the Emerging Youth Foundation.

    Professor Emmanuel Oritsejafor

    Professor Emmanuel Oritsejafor, serving as the Chair of the Department of Public Administration at North Carolina Central University since August 2017, brings a wealth of academic and leadership experience to the Emerging Youth Foundation. His tenure includes a significant role as Director of International Affairs at the same university, highlighting his global perspective and commitment to cross-cultural understanding. His expertise in political science and public administration aligns with the foundation's mission to develop informed, engaged, and empowered youth. His experience and leadership in academia underscore his dedication to education and international affairs.
